What’s up with my name?
Alright so, after being born, upon my arrival home, my big sister, Karin, hyper-excited and well, four years old, was introduced to me as baby “Christopher”. She made up her own riff on the spot, anointing me: “CRUGIE” (crew-ghee). Karin has been an important influence, along with many others, on my subsequent creative path. Pictured above is one of my first ever cut-paper collages: a character she invented and coined “The Grike”.
I’m still at it- nearly 50 years later….
Right around the same time I made that first collage, I received my first guitar. My nine year-old mind was blown. I’ve since spent all my life playing instruments and writing songs, recording and performing, engineering and producing, drawing, painting and collaging, never stopping, never once.
